Global Warming Blog
Introduction
This is what we did..
Global Warming??
Global warming caused by greenhouse gas pollution, is causing immediate and direct changes to the earth.
5 effects...
1. Hotter days, hotter summers
2. Rising sea level
3. More frequent and intense extreme weather events
4. Ocean is warming and acidifying
History..
In the 1860s, physicist John Tyndall recognized Earth`s natural greenhouse effect and suggested that slight changes in the atmospheric composition could bring about climatic variation.
In 1896, a seminal paper by Swedish scientist Svante Arthenius first predicted that changes in atomospheric carbon dioxide levels could substantially alter the surface temparature through the greenhouse effect.
In 1938, Guy Callendar connected carbon dioxide to increase in Earth`s atmosphere to global warming.
I liked how you talked about the very basic knowledge of global warming. We have been talking about this since when we were in elementary school and yet, we have not experienced a significant improvement. I think this is in some ways due to the reason that even if we talk about global warming, some do not actually know what is exactly happening to earth and how it affects us. The video you inserted updated my mind on the problem of global warming itself and found out that everything is becoming extreme. Water, weather, food, and health are all becoming either too much or not enough and made me feel aware of what is to come if we do not take this problem seriously.
